"I am a 62-year-old woman who has been going to The House of Pain Management twice a week consistently for approximately 18 months and I whole heartedly recommend Trevor and his team. Prior to beginning working out with Trevor, I’d been sedentary for 5-6 years after having been fairly active and in good shape prior to that…at least that’s what I thought. Throughout the last 18 months, I’ve lost 14 pounds while also gaining muscle, endurance, and confidence in the gym. Trevor is all the things you want in a trainer and so much more. He’s exudes expertise in a friendly, understandable, and often funny manner. He starts at the basics and builds from there, no matter what one’s knowledge or expertise is. I thought I knew what I was doing and was proven wrong time after time. Over the last 18 months we’ve discovered I had gluteal amnesia and didn’t brace my core properly. Trevor easily helped me rediscover my glutes and gave me home exercises to help me learn to properly brace my core. Bracing my core correctly has enabled me to proceed with exercise and everyday activity without the lower back pain that has plagued me off and on over the last 30 years. With Trevor’s support, I now recognize when I’m lifting improperly and potentially causing lower back strain. In addition, when I experience pain in a joint or muscle while lifting, due to Trevor’s well-rounded knowledge in kinesiology he is able to quickly determine possible causes and has me roll out the muscle or use a trigger point ball or other tool to work on the problem area. Other times he has spent a few minutes doing a deep tissue massage to work on the area. A few minutes later I’m lifting again and the pain is gone. This is a priceless and, in my opinion, very unique aspect of working with Trevor and should not be underestimated. I was in Texas for 5 weeks with my daughter and son-in-law early in the year. I didn’t want to interrupt my progress so, in consultation with Trevor, I brought bands with me and purchased a couple things at the local Marshalls. We conducted my sessions over FaceTime and it worked very well. Trevor was able to see my form and make the appropriate corrections which is what is so important to me. Now I’m all set for whenever I am out of town! In addition to the above, when I asked, Trevor helped me review my diet and make appropriate changes to better fuel my body. I started with Trevor looking to develop and maintain functional fitness. As I’ve seen the changes in my body, both in strength and seeing a hint of my abs for the first time ever, I’m excited to continue my fitness journey with Trevor as my partner and guide. I would be remiss if didn’t mention Janice who contributes a different approach and expertise when she joins our sessions. Janice’s training capabilities are solid and are a good mix-up from Trevor’s structure. She also provides sessions, if one is interested, of massage with instruments that work out stubborn knots and tight muscles. Thankfully I haven’t needed it much, but when I did, the difference was immediate and significant. Not only is Janice an Occupational Therapist, a wonderful lens in which to view health and fitness, she is close to obtaining certification in Strength and Conditioning adding to their incredible combined knowledge and expertise. Team Tibbetts is unmatchable and I am forever grateful my friend recommended them!"
